Friendsgiving is all about gathering close friends for good wine, spirited music, and a cozy fall-inspired menu. Swap traditional décor for a favorite color palette to make the evening feel personal. Perfection is not the goal—what matters most is a full wine glass, a few moments of gratitude, and the creation of new traditions with the people you love.
I love how relaxed Friendsgiving feels. Unlike some family get-togethers that can drift into awkward territory, this holiday is about comfort and connection. It’s a perfect chance to host without pressure: good food, easy conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere. A simple, food-centered gathering is hard to mess up, and that freedom makes it one of my favorite seasonal celebrations.
This year I collaborated with The Inspired Home for a Friendsgiving feature in the second edition of their journal. Seeing this story in print was an incredible thrill and a reminder of how rewarding creative projects can be. If you enjoy thoughtful table styling and approachable entertaining ideas, the journal highlights the tablescape details used for this relaxed, boho-inspired Friendsgiving.
Below I’ve shared the menu inspiration and a few tips to help you recreate a similar fall blush Friendsgiving at home. I’ll be publishing each recipe throughout the week, so check back for step-by-step instructions and tips to make each dish come together easily on the big day.

Menu Inspiration? Keep it simple!
A signature cocktail
Choose a seasonal, easy-to-make cocktail and consider a self-serve station so you aren’t stuck playing bartender all night. A sparkling apple-based drink or a rosemary-spiked whiskey cocktail sets a festive tone without fuss.
An easy appetizer
Start the evening with a light, flavorful bite to welcome guests and buy time if the main course needs a few extra minutes. Think crostini with a sweet-and-salty topping or a composed board with cheeses and fruit.
2–3 favorite side dishes
Balance is key: include a comforting starch and a vibrant vegetable. Classic choices like macaroni and cheese paired with roasted vegetables or potatoes au gratin alongside garlic green beans create a satisfying table that appeals to many tastes.
One main entrée
For the centerpiece, a slow-roasted bird or roast is always welcome. If your guests are vegetarian, hearty alternatives such as lasagna or a rich risotto will keep the meal substantial and memorable.
A show-stopping dessert
Rather than multiple small desserts, focus on one outstanding sweet to finish the meal. A single beautiful cake or a decadent bread pudding makes an elegant statement and simplifies serving.

This Friendsgiving menu is one of my favorites: balanced, interesting, and full of fall flavors. You can swap any dish between Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving—these recipes are flexible and crowd-pleasing. I’ll be posting each recipe in the coming days, so save or screenshot them for your own celebration.
Apple Cider Whiskey Rose
A light, seasonal cocktail to begin the evening: bourbon or whiskey with homemade rosemary syrup, finished with sparkling apple cider. Crisp, bubbly, and perfectly festive.
Fig & Prosciutto Crostini
A simple, elegant appetizer that balances sweet fruit with salty prosciutto. If fresh figs aren’t available, pear or apple slices make a lovely substitute.
Gruyère & Gouda Bacon Apple Mac and Cheese
This is the ultimate fall mac and cheese—caramelized apples, crispy bacon, smoked gouda, and gruyère combine for a savory, slightly sweet comfort dish that stands out on any holiday table.
Apple Chai Bread Pudding Bundt Cake with Vanilla Bean Caramel
The showstopper dessert: bread pudding transformed into a bundt cake, laced with chai spices and finished with a vanilla bean caramel. Rich, textured, and unforgettable—if you make one thing from this menu, let it be this cake.

For the tablescape, aim for layered textures, soft autumnal hues, and a mix of functional pieces—plates, flatware, glassware, and serving dishes that feel cohesive. The goal is an inviting table that looks effortless and warm. I hope these ideas inspire your next Friendsgiving: simple planning, delicious food, and an evening full of good company.
