Summer Superfood Smoothie Bowl
I’m a little obsessed with smoothies — if you followed my Smoothie Week in January, you know what I mean. This blog includes more than 40 smoothie recipes, both drinkable and spoonable, so I’ve tried plenty of combinations to find what works best for flavor, texture, and convenience.

Smoothie bowls are a favorite when I have a few extra minutes to savor spooned goodness. They’re thick, creamy, and endlessly customizable — perfect for a leisurely morning or a post-workout refuel.

Life with a young child means convenience matters. When I’m balancing a busy schedule, frozen fruits and ready-to-use refrigerated items make healthy eating much easier. That’s one reason I’m glad to be working with NFRA — frozen and refrigerated goods bring both speed and nutrition to my kitchen.

This bowl combines quality frozen fruit like Wyman’s wild blueberries with Good Karma Flaxmilk for a dairy-free, protein-boosted base. It’s vegan and gluten-free, and using frozen ingredients helps reduce waste and stretch your grocery budget.

Money-saving tips for grocery shopping
- Use surplus fruit: Gather extra berries and toss them into smoothies or smoothie bowls to avoid waste and get extra nutrition.
- Buy in bulk when it makes sense: Frozen proteins, fruits, and vegetables are great to stock up on for larger families or meal prep.
- Plan meals: Make a weekly list to buy only what you need and reduce leftovers that go unused.
- Choose frozen produce: Frozen fruits and vegetables are picked and sealed at peak ripeness, preserving nutrients and extending shelf life.
- Go meatless once a week: Simple vegetarian meals with eggs, cheese, and veggies are budget-friendly and protein-rich.
- Swap takeout for a quick frozen meal: A frozen pizza paired with a fresh salad and some grilled chicken makes an affordable, veggie-forward dinner.
- Watch expiration dates: Selecting products with later sell-by dates helps reduce the chances of throwing food away.
